All-New 2025 Tata Sierra Revealed: Features, Engines, and Pricing

The 2025 Tata Sierra finally made its world premiere, and it feels like Tata Motors brought back a familiar name with a fresh purpose. Seeing the Sierra step back into the spotlight after so many years gave today’s reveal an emotional edge, especially for anyone who remembers the original three-door icon. This time, the Sierra arrives as a modern five-door sport utility vehicle that blends nostalgia with all the tech and comfort people expect today.

From the moment it rolled on stage, the Sierra showed it was built for more than urban driving. The upright stance, the squared wheel arches, and the signature wraparound rear glass brought back hints of the older model, but the overall shape feels stronger and more premium. Tata’s new ARGOS platform gives it a solid footprint, and the company highlighted how much effort went into creating a structure that is both tough and refined. They even mentioned crash-testing two full prototypes just to prove how rigid the body is under real-world situations.

Inside, the Sierra leans toward a calm and lounge-like feel. The cabin uses soft materials, wide surfaces, and a clean dashboard layout. Higher trims get multiple digital displays, ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a new steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo. Tata is clearly pushing this SUV into a more premium space, especially in the top Adventure and Accomplished versions.

The 2025 Sierra offers three powertrain options, starting with a 1.5-liter Revotron petrol engine and moving up to the new 1.5-liter TGDi Hyperion turbo-petrol that makes 160 horsepower and 255 newton-meters of torque. A 1.5-liter Kryojet diesel completes the lineup, giving buyers several choices depending on whether they prioritize punchy acceleration or long-distance efficiency. Tata also emphasized that the new TiDAL 2.0 electrical architecture adds 1 gigabit-per-second data capability and 5G connectivity, making the Sierra one of the most advanced vehicles in its segment.

Off-road numbers are impressive too. It comes with a 26.5 degree approach angle, a 23.1 degree ramp-over angle, a 31.6 degree departure angle, and 205 millimeters of ground clearance. These are strong figures for a midsize SUV that also aims to be comfortable on daily commutes.

What really stood out today was the pricing. Starting at 11.49 lakh rupees, the Sierra is positioned aggressively against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Hyryder, Maruti Grand Vitara, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq. Bookings open on December 16, and deliveries begin on January 15, giving Tata a strong start to the new year.
