New Porsche 718 Cayman Electric: Real Design Changes You Can Spot
The electric Porsche 718 Cayman is edging toward production, and fresh spy photos have allowed DPCcars to create a few short rendered clips that imagine how the production model could look. What stands out is how Porsche keeps the essence intact. The roofline still sweeps gracefully, now stretching farther to the rear for a cleaner tail without the tiny trunk of earlier coupes. The real side glass wears matte black trim that curls upward near the back, a small cue that separates it from a 911 even when camouflage tries to confuse you.
At the rear, the hatch appears to be nearly all glass, more like a pop up rear window than the mixed metal and glass approach we know. Up front, the faint fake headlamp stickers reveal more of the real lighting: four strong accent sections around a central lamp, a familiar but crisp Porsche signature.
Timing slipped after a supplier bankruptcy complicated battery sourcing, moving plans from 2026 to 2027. Porsche leadership says this will remain a driver’s car, with weight prioritized over maximum range. Gas powered “top” variants will coexist with the electric vehicle. An official reveal is expected late next year or possibly into 2027. Do not forget to like, subscribe, and hit the notification bell.
