The seventh-generation Ford Mustang has plenty of headline models, but this new path is aimed at enthusiasts who count every dollar and still want something that feels special. The 2026 Mustang EcoBoost RTR Package takes the accessible four-cylinder model and turns it into a sharper, more confident car that loves to slide. Think of it as a driver’s package first and a styling package second, built for people who want to feel more of the car in their hands and seat. The core hardware reads like a greatest hits list from across the Mustang lineup. Brembo brakes from the GT Performance Package bring six-piston calipers in front and four-piston units in back, which already tells you this car is built for repeated hard use. Engineers also borrowed the Dark Horse rear subframe and matched it with front and rear sway bars for extra stiffness. The result is a chassis that communicates better and resists slop when you pitch it into a corner or a controlled drift.
Steering and damping get real attention, too. An optimized steering gear with increased travel lets you wind on more lock, while bespoke stability control and available MagneRide damper calibrations are tuned for smoother transitions and cleaner angles when the rear steps out. The Electronic Drift Brake is standard, so practicing figure-eights in a safe, legal space will be easier to learn and repeat. Ford also includes the Active-Valve Performance Exhaust with quad tips, so the four-cylinder has a little more presence when you open it up.
There are no direct horsepower changes here—under the hood sits the standard turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder, rated at 315 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque—but RTR adds an anti-lag system inspired by the GT race car. That tech is all about keeping the turbo spooled between throttle applications, which should make the car feel more responsive when you dance on and off the gas mid-corner.
The visual treatment underscores the intent. You get RTR’s illuminated nostrils, RTR grille, the GT front fascia, a GT Performance Pack rear spoiler, RTR badging, and Tarnished Dark Anodized accents on the pony, mirror caps, and graphics. Choose the Hyper Lime Exterior Package and those black Brembos pop in Hyper Lime, with matching accents laid over the graphics. Inside, Hyper Lime stitching runs across the dash, center console, door pockets, and drift brake, while the screens greet you with RTR-specific graphics every time you open the door or start the car.
Pricing is still under wraps. The package fits the EcoBoost Mustang Fastback with the High Package and the EcoBoost Premium Fastback, which start at $36,510 and $38,340 for 2026.
