The New Zeekr 001 Just Got a Major Upgrade – Here’s What Changed!

Zeekr has given its flagship electric shooting brake, the Zeekr 001, a well-deserved refresh that blends elegance, power, and new technology. The refreshed model is not a full redesign but rather a smart evolution, improving where it matters most—performance, charging efficiency, and interior technology.

At first glance, the Zeekr 001 looks familiar, but under the surface, things get exciting. The model now runs on an 800-volt architecture, replacing the older 400-volt system. This means significantly faster charging and better energy efficiency. Drivers can expect to add hundreds of kilometers of range in just minutes at compatible charging stations. Depending on the version, the 001 is powered by either a 95 kWh or a 100 kWh battery pack. In its highest configuration, it delivers around 810 Nm of torque and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in about 3.3 seconds.

Inside, Zeekr has focused on comfort and sophistication. The cabin features premium materials, improved ambient lighting, and a new infotainment system powered by upgraded chips for smoother performance. Higher trims now include NVIDIA Orin-X chips, which enhance the car’s autonomous driving and safety capabilities.

Pricing remains surprisingly competitive. The refreshed Zeekr 001 starts at RMB 269,000, while higher trims such as the ME and YOU models are priced at RMB 299,000 and RMB 329,000. These figures make it one of the most attractive luxury EV options in its category, especially considering its range of around 750 km.

Zeekr’s decision to introduce the refresh only months after the previous model stirred some debate, but it also highlights the brand’s rapid pace of innovation. The refreshed 001 is a clear message from Zeekr: progress will not wait.
