Camouflaged Cupra Raval: What Munich 2025 Revealed and What Comes Next
The CUPRA Raval stepped into the spotlight at the International Motor Show Mobility 2025 in Munich wearing urban camouflage and a lot of attitude. Named after Barcelona’s El Raval district, this all-electric compact hatchback channels city energy into something emotional and fun, the way a neighborhood café hums before sunrise. You can feel that it was imagined for tight streets, quick decisions, and drivers who want personality with their practicality.
Under the design drama sits Volkswagen Group’s updated modular electric platform. The Raval uses front-wheel drive and arrives with dimensions that keep it nimble: 4,046 millimeters in length, 1,784 millimeters in width, 1,518 millimeters in height, and a 2,600 millimeter wheelbase. Those numbers promise a city-friendly footprint with just enough wheelbase to give the cabin real space and stability at speed.
CUPRA is positioning a performance-oriented version called the Raval VZ. Output is listed at 166 kilowatts and the hardware reads like a driver’s wish list: Dynamic Chassis Control Sport suspension, an Electronic Stability Control Off mode, a VAQ electronic slip differential to pull the nose cleanly out of corners, and 19 inch wheels wrapped in 235 millimeter tires. This is the small electric car that wants you to take the long way home.
Inside, CUPRA’s usual mix of bold shapes and sport seats returns, with the brand’s bucket-style chairs designed to hold you in place without punishing daily comfort. Tech and assistance features match the brief: lane centering and lane changes through Travel Assist, intelligent parking assistance, a 360 degree area view, and traffic light recognition to ease city commutes. Multiple battery sizes are planned, with direct current fast charging on the menu so short stops add meaningful range.
The story matters as much as the specs. The Raval will be built in Martorell, just outside Barcelona, alongside the Volkswagen ID Polo, making Spain a hub for the Group’s new Electric Urban family. The camouflaged car shown in Munich is a near-production preview ahead of the official world premiere and market launch targeted for 2026. That extra time in the oven should help CUPRA sharpen software, tuning, and cabin details before the first customers take delivery.
Seen in the metal, the Raval’s stance sells the idea: short overhangs, pumped fenders, and lighting signatures that feel theatrical without going over the top. It looks like something that could make a regular grocery run feel like a late-night mission. If you are curious about small electric cars but cannot live with bland, this one is designed to make you smile every time you slip into a parking space with millimeters to spare.
