2026 Palisade Redesign and Hybrid Revealed: Is It Worth It?
Hyundai is stepping up its game with the second generation of the Palisade, and this time it is longer, more efficient, and full of thoughtful upgrades. The 2026 Palisade stretches 2.5 inches beyond its predecessor and adds 2.7 inches between the wheels, giving it a more spacious feel without losing the three-row utility buyers love.
The standard engine is a 3.5-liter V6 producing 287 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. While those numbers are slightly lower than the outgoing 3.8-liter engine, performance remains strong. Buyers can choose between front-wheel and all-wheel drive, and the towing capacity reaches up to 5,000 pounds.
The new hybrid option is where things get really exciting. It uses a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors built into a six-speed automatic transmission. Total output is 329 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque. Hyundai estimates the hybrid will deliver over 30 miles per gallon on the highway and can tow up to 4,000 pounds.
Design-wise, the 2026 Palisade makes a bold first impression. The massive LED daytime running lights wrap around a wide, upright grille, while active air shutters help achieve a surprisingly low drag coefficient of 0.31. Inside, you will find dual 12.3-inch screens embedded into the dashboard, real buttons below for easy control, and features like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A new 15-watt wireless phone charger with a cooling fan ensures fast and safe charging.
Hyundai is also introducing its XRT Pro trim for the first time with this model, giving off-road enthusiasts some mechanical upgrades. Buyers will have 10 exterior colors to choose from and a range of upholstery options including cloth, leatherette, leather, and luxurious Nappa leather.
Pricing has not been announced yet, but considering the 2025 Palisade starts at $38,675, the 2026 model is expected to stay close if Hyundai wants to stay competitive.
