2025 Toyota Aqua Facelift – What Changed on September 1 Reveal

2025 Toyota Aqua Facelift – What Changed on September 1 Reveal

Toyota has refreshed the Aqua in Japan, and the updates make this compact hybrid even more appealing. Revealed on September 1, the facelift brings sharper styling with Toyota’s signature hammerhead front design and slim LED headlights. Some trims even feature a unique center lamp, a detail that stands out more than what is offered on the current Prius.

Beyond looks, Toyota added new technology that improves how the car feels on the road. Smooth Stop Control, a system first used on the Century SUV and Alphard Plug-in Hybrid, now comes to the Aqua. It works by reducing nose dive under braking, making every stop smoother and more controlled.

Safety was another focus. The latest Toyota Safety Sense package is standard, and it now includes Proactive Driving Assist. This system provides gentle steering and braking support when pedestrians, cyclists, or parked cars are detected ahead, adding peace of mind for everyday driving.

The interior and standard features have also been upgraded. Many trims now come with front and rear dash cameras, an ETC 2.0 device, and Blind Spot Monitoring paired with a Panoramic View Monitor. For those who want a more flexible ownership option, Toyota introduced a KINTO subscription-only “U” grade.

Pricing in Japan starts around ¥2,486,000 and goes up to ¥3,022,800 depending on the trim. The popular Z grade is listed at ¥2,824,800, which is about ¥259,800 higher than before. These changes make the Aqua not just a stylish hybrid but also a safer and smarter choice.
