2025 Suzuki e VITARA: This Electric SUV Can Do What Others Fear
Suzuki is making a bold move into the electric future with the upcoming 2025 e VITARA, and this is not just another compact SUV—it is a statement. At the heart of this new model is the ALLGRIP-e electric four-wheel drive system, which brings fresh capability and confidence to both city streets and off-road trails.
Unlike traditional all-wheel drive setups, the ALLGRIP-e system uses two separate electric motors—one at the front and one at the rear. This dual-motor configuration enables precise control over how power is distributed between the front and rear wheels. Whether you are driving through slick urban streets or tackling a rugged path, the system adjusts power instantly to maintain grip and balance.
Suzuki has even built in a dedicated “Trail” mode, which is especially useful off-road. If a wheel starts slipping, the system applies the brakes and sends power to the wheels that still have traction. This gives the e VITARA serious off-road potential, even though it is fully electric.
Power options include a 49 kilowatt-hour battery for front-wheel drive and a 61 kilowatt-hour battery for the all-wheel drive model. The latter produces 135 kilowatts of power, or about 181 horsepower, with 300 Newton-meters of torque. That is enough for a zero to sixty-two mile per hour sprint in around 7.4 seconds, proving that the e VITARA is not just smart—it is quick.
Battery range goes up to 249 miles for the front-wheel drive variant and around 243 miles for the all-wheel drive version. Fast charging is supported at up to 150 kilowatts, getting the battery from 10 percent to 80 percent in roughly 45 minutes. That makes it practical for everyday use, road trips, and unexpected detours.
Built on the HEARTECT-e platform, the e VITARA has a strong, lightweight body and low center of gravity, helping it feel planted and stable on the road. And with a generous ground clearance of 180 millimeters, it is ready to handle real-world obstacles with ease.
Suzuki plans to begin production in early 2025, with the first models expected to hit dealerships by the summer. It will launch in India, Europe, and Japan, bringing electric adventure to new and returning Suzuki fans.
