Zeekr 007 GT Review: Why This Electric Station Wagon Is a Game Changer

The Zeekr 007 GT has officially arrived in China, and it is turning heads right from the start. With a launch price of 199,900 yuan, which is around 27,200 United States dollars, this electric station wagon is packed with performance, comfort, and cutting-edge tech. This is the second estate model from Zeekr, following the success of the Zeekr 001, and it is already gearing up to make its way to Europe under the name Zeekr 7 GT.

Zeekr, the high-end new energy vehicle brand under Geely, launched in 2021 and is quickly expanding. The 007 GT is built on the PMA2+ modular platform, the same as the Zeekr 007 sedan. It features the company’s newest design language, “Hidden Energy,” blending sleek looks with futuristic tech. What makes this car stand out even more is that it is a station wagon, a body style not traditionally favored in China. But Zeekr is changing that narrative.

Vice President Chu Ling shared that their first station wagon, the Zeekr 001, was a massive success and currently makes up 70 percent of all estate sales in China. With this momentum, it made perfect sense for Zeekr to double down and launch a second shooting brake. The 007 GT is targeting high-tech enthusiasts who want style, space, and next-level features in one sleek package.

Up front, it sports an impressive 90-inch interactive LED strip called Zeekr Stargate. It is more than just a design statement—it can display text and images. The headlights are tucked beneath it, while the front bumper features an active air intake and a sloped hood line. On top, a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor enhances the vehicle’s semi-autonomous driving capability. The silhouette is smooth and aerodynamic, with retractable door handles, roof rails, and a sporty spoiler at the rear. The roofline curves at 21 degrees to give it that classic shooting brake feel.

This mid-size electric wagon measures 4864 millimeters long, 1900 millimeters wide, and 1445 millimeters tall, with a wheelbase of 2925 millimeters. That makes it 101 millimeters longer than the Audi A4 Allroad. Zeekr gives it nine body colors, including light and dark purple, blue, green, beige, and gray. The car rides on 20-inch wheels and even offers optional air suspension and a power towing hook.

Another area where the 007 GT stands out is safety. The front motor is designed to drop downwards in the event of a collision, helping preserve cabin space and passenger safety. Inside, the 007 GT is packed with features to match its futuristic vibe. It includes a 15.4-inch central touchscreen, an oval LCD instrument panel, and a massive 35.5-inch augmented reality head-up display. It also comes with an AI voice assistant that supports over 200 functions, plus built-in 3D maps.

The gear shifter is positioned behind a D-shaped, three-spoke steering wheel, and the center tunnel features physical buttons and storage space. There are two 50-watt wireless charging pads, cup holders, and headrest speakers for the driver’s seat. Rear passengers get seatback tablet mounts. Upholstery includes Nappa leather across 1.42 square meters, microfiber on the headliner, and optional red seatbelts. The panoramic sunroof blocks 99.99 percent of UV rays and has 10 brightness levels.

Zeekr says the car’s interior space utilization rate is 83.5 percent, with 36 storage compartments throughout. There are mounts for skis, a roof rack that can support 150 kilograms, and a 1737-liter cargo space with the rear seats folded. Even better, there is a 10.2-liter refrigerator hidden under the trunk floor for added convenience.

The 007 GT is loaded with smart tech. It features 31 sensors for intelligent driving, including 1 LiDAR, 11 cameras, and 3 millimeter-wave radars. Its computing brain is powered by dual Nvidia Drive Orin-X chips delivering 508 trillion operations per second. It supports advanced features like Automatic Emergency Braking, a General Automated Evasion System, and Navigate On Autopilot that works even without preloaded maps.

In safety tests, the 007 GT performed impressively. It came to a full stop in a foggy tunnel while traveling at 60 kilometers per hour and managed to avoid obstacles at 120 kilometers per hour. When it comes to power, the entry-level model comes with a single rear-mounted electric motor generating 310 kilowatts, or 416 horsepower. The all-wheel drive version adds another 165 kilowatts up front, for a combined output of 475 kilowatts or 637 horsepower. This allows it to sprint from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in just 2.95 seconds and stop from that speed in only 34.4 meters, aided by high-performance 379-millimeter Brembo brakes and Zeekr’s VDC 2.0 stabilization system.

Battery choices include a 75 kilowatt-hour lithium iron phosphate pack developed in-house and a 100 kilowatt-hour ternary NMC pack. Driving range is rated between 585 and 825 kilometers on the Chinese Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle. The car also earned a record for second-longest continuous ice drift at 55.011 kilometers, only behind the Zeekr 001’s 65.990 kilometers.

With its 800-volt high-voltage platform, the 007 GT supports 5.5C ultra-fast charging, which means it can charge at over five times its battery capacity. It also offers vehicle-to-vehicle charging at up to 60 kilowatts, making it a mobile power source. The car rides on the Magic Carpet air suspension and uses a CCD continuous damping control system to balance performance with a smooth ride.

The 007 GT even joined the Grand Tour to the Arctic, where it was put through harsh winter conditions. According to Zeekr, the car handled cold-weather performance and climate management without breaking a sweat.

Buyers can choose from three trim levels. The rear-wheel drive model with the 75 kilowatt-hour battery starts at 202,900 yuan, or around 27,610 United States dollars. The rear-wheel drive with the 100 kilowatt-hour pack is priced at 222,900 yuan, about 30,330 United States dollars. The all-wheel drive version starts at 232,900 yuan, or roughly 31,700 United States dollars. Early buyers can take advantage of a limited-time 3,000 yuan discount, bringing the range down to 199,900 yuan or 27,200 United States dollars. It comes with a six-year or 150,000 kilometer warranty, and the electric powertrain is covered for life.
