You Will Not Believe the Tech in the 2026 Mitsubishi Grandis

Mitsubishi is stepping up its game in the European market with the introduction of the All-New Grandis, a compact sport utility vehicle built with young families in mind. This new model brings together Mitsubishi’s bold design identity, modern technology, and a range of hybrid powertrains that cater to those looking for both efficiency and performance. From its distinctive styling to its suite of advanced safety and connectivity features, the Grandis is aiming to be more than just another option in the crowded compact sport utility vehicle segment.

The Grandis combines a mild hybrid system and a full hybrid powertrain to offer drivers flexibility based on their driving needs. The 1.3-liter mild hybrid system uses a turbocharged gasoline engine paired with a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the 1.8-liter full hybrid system adds electric motors and a lithium-ion battery, enabling up to 80 percent electric driving in the city and up to 40 percent improved fuel economy during urban trips.

Its appearance is designed to stand out with Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield front fascia, sculpted side profile, and Sculptural Hexagon rear. Available in colors like Steel Grey, Crystal White, Royal Blue, Sunrise Red, and Onyx Black, the Grandis also offers a variety of trim-specific styling elements, from glossy black inserts to satin chrome accents.

Inside, the cabin offers practical features with premium finishes. Depending on the trim—INFORM, INVITE, INTENSE, or INSTYLE—drivers get features like seat heating, alloy wheel options ranging up to 19 inches, and a full-size electrochromic glass roof that adjusts light at the touch of a button. The rear bench slides up to 160 millimeters to optimize either legroom or cargo space, and with seats folded, it opens up to 1,455 liters of luggage capacity.

Tech-wise, the Grandis is well-equipped. The 10.4-inch portrait infotainment display supports Google built-in features such as Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google Play. With wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, and over-the-air updates, the vehicle is thoroughly modern. A 7-inch or 10-inch digital driver display keeps critical information in view without distraction.

Safety is another strong point. The Grandis includes up to 20 advanced driver assistance systems, including Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane Centering Assist, MI-PILOT highway assist, Automatic High Beam, Rear Automatic Emergency Braking, and Around View Monitor. It uses a mix of cameras, radar, and ultrasonic sensors to provide a 360-degree view and help keep the vehicle in control at all times.

Underpinning the vehicle is the CMF-B platform developed by the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. The suspension setup includes a Pseudo MacPherson strut in the front and a semi-rigid rear axle with shock absorbers, offering comfort and stability on various road types. Driving modes via the Multi-Sense system let users choose between ECO, COMFORT, SPORT, and fully customizable PERSO mode.

Mitsubishi supports the Grandis with its impressive Service Commitment: an 8-year or 160,000 kilometer warranty, 12-year anti-corrosion coverage, 8-year roadside assistance, and an 8-year traction battery warranty. The vehicle starts production in the fourth quarter of 2025 at the Renault plant in Valladolid, Spain.
