Terrafugia TF-X Flying and Self-Driving Car – Video

Terrafugia TF-X Flying and Self-Driving Car – Video

Do you guys think this will ever happen??

American flying-car company Terrafugia has finished and unvailed development for the Terrafugia TF-X, initially announced in 2013. But do not get your hopes up just yet, there’s still a long way until humans will be able to drive and fly the car you see in the video below.

What Terrafugia basically built so far is the new Outer Mold Line for the Terrafugia TF-X, but that doesn’t mean the vehicle is less attractive.

The outer body looks completely redesigned from what the company showed us a few years ago, but they also specify the new design has been already successfully tested in a one off one-tenth scale model wind tunnel.

But there is more from the compant this time around with the Terrafugia TF-X. The new flying Terrafugia  will be a hybrid electric vehicle, with enough space in the cabin to accommodate four adults.

It will fit in a standard one-car garage and yes, it will be road legal. As for the flying part, Terrafugia claims owners will only need five hours to master the car’s ability to fly. Also, TF-X can take off and land vertically, while the landing procedure can be executed by an autopilot feature, but only at particular special-designed sites.

As far as pricing –  back in 2013, the Terrafugia estimated it will need around six to eight years to produce a fully-operational Terrafugia TF-X, which means we’re in for a long wait. However, it should be available for a six-figure price tag, with some reports claiming the company is targeting between $300k and $400k for the TF-X. Anyway, so you can get this or a Ferrari 458, which one will you choose?.
