Skoda Peaq First Look Massive 7 Seat Electric SUV Changes Everything
Skoda has been quietly building toward something big in its electric lineup, and now it is finally starting to take shape. The upcoming Skoda Peaq is set to become the brand’s largest vehicle ever, and it feels like a natural evolution of the ideas first introduced with the Skoda Vision 7S. This is not just another electric sport utility vehicle. It is clearly aimed at families who want space, comfort, and long range without giving up modern technology.
From the outside, the Peaq already hints at its size even though it is still wearing heavy camouflage. It stretches to 4874 millimeters in length, making it noticeably larger than the Skoda Kodiaq. Thanks to its dedicated electric platform, the wheelbase grows to 2965 millimeters, which translates into more cabin space and better proportions. Even the base model comes with 19 inch wheels, while higher trims can go up to 21 inches, giving it a strong road presence.
Inside, practicality seems to be a major focus. In the 5 seat version, the cargo space reaches 1010 liters, which is already impressive. Even with the third row in use, there is still 299 liters available, along with a small front trunk offering 37 liters. This is the kind of flexibility that families will appreciate on longer trips.
The Peaq will offer two battery options, including a 63 kilowatt hour pack and a larger 91 kilowatt hour version. The smaller battery delivers more than 286 miles of range, while the larger one pushes beyond 373 miles. When it comes time to recharge, the vehicle can go from 10 percent to 80 percent in about 28 minutes using direct current fast charging, which keeps downtime relatively short.
Performance varies depending on the setup. Single motor versions produce either 201 horsepower or 282 horsepower, while the dual motor configuration delivers 295 horsepower and all wheel drive capability. The quickest version reaches 62 miles per hour in 6.7 seconds, which is more than enough for a vehicle in this class. Top speed is electronically limited, with the more powerful versions reaching 112 miles per hour and the base model capped at 100 miles per hour.
Skoda is also introducing several new features with this model. For example, the wiper blades now include built in washers, improving visibility while using less fluid. The panoramic glass roof is the largest the brand has ever installed, and it features a smart shading system that allows occupants to adjust transparency across 9 sections.
Another first is the use of flush door handles, giving the Peaq a cleaner and more modern look. Inside, a 13.6 inch vertical touchscreen takes center stage, paired with a 10 inch digital instrument cluster. For those who want extra comfort, an optional package adds massaging and ventilated seats, adjustable leg rests, and even a premium sound system developed with Sonos.
Skoda continues to include its clever small details as well. There are wireless charging pads, extra USB ports including one near the rearview mirror for a dash camera, and practical touches like foldable tables and smart storage solutions. It is clear that usability has not been overlooked.
The Peaq is entering a competitive space, going up against models like the Kia EV9 and the Peugeot E 5008, but it seems well positioned. With electric vehicles continuing to grow in popularity across Europe, this model could arrive at exactly the right time for buyers looking for a spacious and practical electric family vehicle.
