Range Rover Sport EV Is Here With 542 Horsepower

The Range Rover Sport is entering a new chapter as Land Rover prepares to introduce its first fully electric version of the luxury sport utility vehicle. Even though the powertrain is completely different, the familiar styling remains largely unchanged, making it instantly recognizable. Instead of creating a dramatic new look, Land Rover has chosen to refine what buyers already appreciate while quietly introducing electric performance.

Built on the company’s Modular Longitudinal Architecture platform, the new model was designed from the beginning to support both traditional engines and fully electric powertrains. That flexibility allows the Range Rover Sport Electric to maintain the same proportions, premium comfort, and capability that have made the vehicle popular around the world.

Power comes from a dual motor setup producing either 444 horsepower or 542 horsepower, along with an impressive 627 pound feet of torque. Energy is supplied by a 118.5 kilowatt hour battery pack that supports 350 kilowatt fast charging through an 800 volt electrical system. Land Rover expects the electric sport utility vehicle to travel about 330 miles on a full charge under Environmental Protection Agency estimates.

Luxury remains a priority, with air suspension, rear wheel steering, and advanced one pedal driving helping deliver a smooth and confident driving experience. Despite becoming fully electric, the Range Rover Sport is still designed to handle challenging terrain with the off road capability buyers expect from the brand.

Inside, the cabin is expected to closely resemble today’s model with premium materials and a modern digital layout. The official debut is expected later this year, giving luxury sport utility vehicle shoppers another high end electric option to watch closely.
