Next Hyundai Elantra N Render Is Looking Seriously Aggressive

The next generation Hyundai Elantra has officially arrived, and while the standard sedan has already made its debut, many enthusiasts are already looking ahead to the model that really matters. Hyundai is expected to continue the Elantra N lineup, bringing even more performance and a sharper personality to its compact sport sedan.

Although Hyundai has not released prototype photos or official teasers of the new Elantra N, it is possible to imagine where the design is headed by looking at the company’s latest N models. A more aggressive front fascia seems likely, featuring a larger air intake to improve cooling along with the signature red accents that have become a trademark of Hyundai’s performance vehicles. The side profile could gain wider fenders for a more planted stance, while redesigned side skirts would help give the sedan an even sportier appearance.

At the rear, the performance version is expected to stand out with a functional trunk spoiler, a more aggressive bumper, and large dual exhaust outlets that hint at the power underneath. Combined with exclusive wheels and Hyundai’s well known Performance Blue paint, the new sedan could have a much stronger road presence than the standard model.

The biggest changes may be found beneath the hood. The outgoing Elantra N is powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 276 horsepower, but industry expectations suggest Hyundai could replace it with a more advanced 2.5 liter turbocharged engine. If that happens, output could climb to around 300 horsepower, giving the sedan even stronger acceleration and making it a more serious competitor in the compact performance segment.

A power increase would also bring the Elantra N closer to some of Hyundai’s other high performance models while giving drivers more excitement without sacrificing everyday usability. The combination of front wheel drive dynamics, a responsive turbocharged engine, and a driver focused chassis has already earned the current Elantra N a loyal following, and the next generation has the opportunity to build on that success.

Nothing has been confirmed yet, but if Hyundai delivers the styling and performance improvements enthusiasts are expecting, the upcoming Elantra N could become one of the most exciting sport sedans in its class.
