New Jaecoo J7 Hybrid: 5-Star Safety and 1200 KM Range Revealed

Jaecoo is entering the Australian market with a strong statement. Their new J7 Super Hybrid System model has earned a 5-star safety rating from the Australasian New Car Assessment Program. This top score came from the latest round of safety evaluations, reinforcing the brand’s dedication to protecting drivers, passengers, and pedestrians alike.

The Jaecoo J7 Super Hybrid System is officially launching this May, but it is already turning heads thanks to its impressive safety credentials. According to ANCAP’s testing, the J7 achieved 81 percent in Adult Occupant Protection, 85 percent in Child Occupant Protection, 80 percent in Vulnerable Road User Protection, and 84 percent in Safety Assist. These numbers are strong indicators that Jaecoo’s hybrid system is not only efficient but also built with safety at its core.

ANCAP Chief Executive Officer Carla Hoorweg praised the vehicle’s debut results, stating that it is encouraging to see new brands entering the market with a focus on safety alongside next-generation powertrains. It is not often a new player steps into the scene with such a solid performance right out of the gate.

Roy Munoz, Chief Commercial Officer at Jaecoo Australia, shared his excitement about the milestone. He emphasized that this rating is more than a number — it is a reflection of the company’s unwavering commitment to meeting the highest safety standards, giving Australian drivers peace of mind.

Under the hood, the J7 Super Hybrid System showcases Jaecoo’s most advanced hybrid technology to date. Built on third-generation hybrid architecture developed by its parent company, this vehicle blends fuel efficiency with electric capability. It can travel up to 1200 kilometers on a single tank of fuel and offers a pure electric driving mode capable of 106 kilometers. This gives drivers the flexibility to commute with zero emissions or take longer road trips without worrying about charging stations.

Besides safety and range, the J7 also comes with standout value. The vehicle starts at $47,990 Driveaway and includes an 8-year warranty. Jaecoo dealerships across Australia are now offering test drives, giving buyers the chance to experience this new hybrid SUV firsthand.
