New 2027 Mercedes Benz S Class Update: Front End Redesign And Interior Surprise

The next Mercedes Benz S Class is getting a fresh face, and this time the changes are easy to spot even from a distance. Recent images of the updated flagship sedan’s front bumper and grille show that Mercedes Benz is not afraid to push the design forward while staying true to the car’s luxury roots.

The biggest changes are at the front. The grille surround is now finished in black and visually flows into the headlights, creating a cleaner, more modern look. The grille itself is taller than before but keeps its familiar shape, with four horizontal chrome bars instead of three. The headlights are larger too, and they now feature a pair of three pointed light emitting diode stars on each side, making the S Class instantly recognizable at night or in a rearview mirror.

The front bumper is completely new and follows the company’s latest design language. In the AMG Line style, it features large, sculpted air intakes at the edges that give the sedan a stronger, more confident stance without looking overly aggressive. At the rear, the overall shape stays familiar, but the taillights receive new internals, again with star shaped light elements for the parking lamps. Similar graphics first appeared on the latest E Class, but here the flagship gains three stars on each side, adding a subtle but premium signature.

Inside, the changes are expected to be more dramatic than usual for a mid cycle update. Spy photos suggest a completely redesigned dashboard with fully integrated screens, similar to what we have already seen in the new E Class and the electric GLC. This means a cleaner layout, updated software, and a more consistent digital experience across the Mercedes Benz range. For long time S Class fans, it is a rare moment because this model usually receives only small interior tweaks during a facelift.

Under the hood, the technical updates should be more modest. The main engines are expected to carry over, but the hybrid powertrains may receive a small bump in power and efficiency, making the S Class a little smoother and a little more economical without changing its character.

The world premiere of the updated Mercedes Benz S Class is expected in the coming months, and it will arrive alongside other new models like the latest Mercedes Benz CLA station wagon. For buyers, it means you can still have the traditional luxury sedan layout, but with fresher design details and tech that matches the newest models in the lineup.
