Each of these convertibles costs more than a quarter-million dollars, seats four people, and has a twin-turbocharged, 12-cylinder engine. This is the first time in 45 years Mercedes-Benz has made an S-Class convertible, but can the Mercedes brand compete with a Bentley? Then again, the Continental is loosely based on a decade-old Volkswagen Group architecture.
