Mitsubishi Pajero Ralliart Concept Looks Production Ready

Mitsubishi Pajero Ralliart Concept Looks Production Ready

The Mitsubishi Pajero Ralliart may not be confirmed for production, but Mitsubishi has given enthusiasts a very good idea of what such a model could look like. The Pajero Rally Concept takes the newly returned Pajero and gives it a much tougher personality inspired by Mitsubishi’s long history in rally competition.

The concept immediately stands out with its bright red motorsport inspired Ralliart graphics. It rides on 18 inch Work Crag T Grabic MC aluminum alloy wheels fitted with Yokohama Geolandar X AT all terrain tires, giving the Pajero a noticeably more aggressive stance.

Mitsubishi also fitted front and rear fender extensions, a custom C pillar cover, red skid plates, a unique front grille with a Ralliart emblem, and a snorkel. Some of these components are prototype pieces, while others are presented as accessories. Together, they transform the regular Pajero into something that looks ready for serious off road use.

The big question is whether Mitsubishi will eventually turn this idea into a production Pajero Ralliart. For now, the answer is no. Mitsubishi Chief Product Specialist Kunitoshi Itagaki confirmed that the company currently has no specific Pajero Ralliart project to announce.

However, Mitsubishi is clearly not ignoring the idea. Itagaki emphasized that the company considers its Ralliart heritage extremely important and will continue studying opportunities to create vehicles capable of delivering the performance and driving experience expected from the Ralliart name.

That leaves the door open, even if only slightly. The Pajero already has the rugged foundation, and this Rally Concept shows how naturally Ralliart styling and off road equipment fit the new sport utility vehicle. A production model has not been approved, but if Mitsubishi ever decides to revive the Pajero Ralliart name, much of the visual formula may already be sitting right in front of us.
