Lynk & Co 900 SUV – The $39K 6-Seat Plug-in That Crushes Range Anxiety
The Lynk & Co 900, Geely’s bold new flagship sport utility vehicle, is making serious waves in the full-size segment. This is not just another luxury utility vehicle from China. This is a six-seat plug-in hybrid beast loaded with tech, power, and comfort that rivals established names like Range Rover and BMW. And yes, it is doing it at a price point that makes it even more impressive.
Under the hood, you have three different plug-in hybrid options. The entry-level model combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with front and rear electric motors, producing a total of 711 horsepower. That setup is paired with a 44.85 kilowatt-hour battery, giving you an electric-only range of 220 kilometers and a total range of 1,355 kilometers. It can go from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 4.8 seconds.
Move up to the mid-level version and you get a 2.0-liter engine, again working with electric motors at the front and rear. This version delivers 724 horsepower, a 52.38 kilowatt-hour battery, and a slightly longer electric range of 280 kilometers. The total range comes in at 1,350 kilometers with a 0 to 100 sprint time of 4.6 seconds.
Then there is the top-tier trim, with a combined 872 horsepower from a 2.0-liter engine and three electric motors—one in front and two at the rear. This one shares the same 52.38 kilowatt-hour battery but manages an electric-only range of 268 kilometers. Overall range stretches to 1,443 kilometers, and you are hitting 100 kilometers per hour in just 4.3 seconds.
All versions come with all-wheel drive and a 3-speed DHT Pro transmission, ensuring smooth power delivery across all terrains.
Tech-wise, the Lynk & Co 900 packs serious firepower. Every variant features advanced semi-autonomous driving through the G-Pilot system. The base trims come with G-Pilot H5 supported by dual Nvidia Drive Orin-X chips, while higher trims upgrade to G-Pilot H7 with the Nvidia Drive Thor processor. Features include Navigate On Autopilot, which works on highways and city roads.
Inside, a stunning 30-inch 6K ultra-wide screen dominates the dashboard, powered by the Snapdragon 8295 chip, alongside a 12.66-inch digital gauge cluster. Passengers in the back get their own 30-inch screen too. Second-row captain’s chairs rotate 180 degrees and slide 550 millimeters. Even the third row is adjustable for added comfort.
Storage is smartly handled, with 42 compartments, a 300-liter trunk, and a hidden 20-liter compartment. Premium options include a 31-speaker surround sound system, dual-chamber air suspension, and customizable lighting via a front ISD panel with over 10,000 LED lamps.
As for size, it measures 5,240 millimeters long, 1,999 millimeters wide, and 1,810 millimeters tall, with a wheelbase of 3,160 millimeters. The design is clean and futuristic, sitting on the SPA Evo modular platform.
Starting prices in China begin at 309,900 yuan and go up to 416,900 yuan, with a limited-time entry price of 289,900 yuan. No international release has been confirmed yet, but if Lynk & Co plays its cards right, this could be a game changer globally.
