Kia EV4 UK Pricing and Features: Is This the Best Electric Hatchback?

Kia is making waves again with its all-new EV4, an electric hatchback that brings long range, smart tech, and sleek European design into one neat package. With a starting price of £34,695 in the United Kingdom, the EV4 is now open for orders and is set to hit the streets in the autumn.

The EV4 is not just another electric vehicle; it is the brand’s first fully electric C-segment hatchback. Designed specifically with European tastes in mind, it blends a compact shape with impressive performance and plenty of practical features. Built in Slovakia, it is clear Kia wanted to keep production local to speed up deliveries and keep things efficient for United Kingdom customers.

You can choose from three trim levels: Air, GT-Line, and GT-Line S. Even the entry-level Air comes well-equipped, but the GT-Line trims kick it up with sportier looks and enhanced features. The standard version comes with a 58.3 kilowatt-hour battery and delivers up to 273 miles on a single charge. If you go for the long-range 81.4 kilowatt-hour version, you are looking at up to 388 miles.

No matter the model, you get a front-mounted electric motor producing 150 kilowatts, which is about 201 brake horsepower and 283 Newton-meters of torque. That setup gives you a solid punch, going from zero to 62 miles per hour in as little as 7.5 seconds. Top speed? 105 miles per hour.

Kia also made sure the EV4 slices through the air smoothly, with a drag coefficient of 0.27. Active air flaps and a nearly flat underbody help boost aerodynamic performance. Boot space is also generous, with 435 liters available even with all the seats up.

When it is time to recharge, the EV4 supports 400-volt architecture, letting you juice up from 10 to 80 percent in just 29 minutes on a 350 kilowatt fast charger. At home, a full charge on an 11 kilowatt AC unit takes just over 5 hours.

Inside, you get Kia’s latest connected infotainment setup featuring dual 12.3-inch screens and a 5.3-inch climate control panel. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a Kia voice assistant powered by ChatGPT. Just say “Hey Kia” and it can help with navigation, questions, entertainment, or even tell you a joke.

Top-tier GT-Line S models take comfort further with front relaxation seats that recline almost flat. There are also two new entertainment-focused modes. Rest mode lets you chill in a dimmed cabin with soft lighting and reclining seats, while Theatre mode turns your car into a mini cinema with video apps like Netflix and YouTube ready to go.
