Hacker’s show how they broke into Tesla’s Model S – Video

Meet the genius hackers who helped Tesla Motors discover and resolve security vulnerabilities of its popular Model S electric sedan. Marc Rogers, Principle Security Researcher for CloudFlare, and Kevin Mahaffey, CTO of Lookout Inc, have successfully hacked into the Tesla Model S after two years of attempts.

This says a lot about Tesla’s electric vehicle, with the hackers admitting that the vehicle is one of the most secure on the market offered today, despite arguably being the world’s most connected vehicle.

Still, Rogers and Mahaffey successfully managed to remotely open and close the vehicle’s windows, lock and unlock its doors, raise and lower the suspension system and shut off the car .

They could also hijack the small screen that provides vital speed readouts and alter the speed the driver saw or display distracting photos on it. Any of these would certainly scare anyone that is concentrating on driving. You can find out more about the Tesla Model S vulnerabilities from the authors themselves in the following video from Bloomberg TV .
