Great Wall Motor Unveils Tank 700 Hi4-Z With Advanced Driver Assistance

Great Wall Motor has officially introduced the Tank 700 Hi4-Z, a new electrified version of its large off road sport utility vehicle. At first glance, the vehicle looks familiar, but a closer look reveals several subtle upgrades that hint at its new technology and capabilities. The Tank 700 Hi4-Z blends rugged design with advanced hybrid performance, positioning it as a modern alternative for buyers who want both off road strength and improved efficiency.

The front of the vehicle receives small but noticeable updates. The hood now features functional ventilation openings that add a more aggressive appearance. The headlights and front grille remain similar to the Tank 700 Hi4-T, maintaining the bold design language that has become a signature of the Tank brand. The front bumper uses a three section layout with a pronounced front lip that adds a sportier touch.

Along the side profile, the SUV keeps its muscular off road stance. Wide fender flares highlight the vehicle’s size and toughness, while new 20 inch and 21 inch wheel options give buyers additional customization choices. One of the most interesting additions is the roof mounted light detection and ranging sensor, which signals that the Tank 700 Hi4-Z will support advanced driver assistance technologies.

At the rear, the vehicle continues the rugged theme. A roof spoiler adds a subtle performance look, while a camera module is integrated into the center area of the roof. The tailgate opens horizontally and carries a classic rear mounted spare tire, reinforcing the vehicle’s off road identity.

In terms of size, the Tank 700 Hi4-Z is a large sport utility vehicle measuring 5105 millimeters in length, 2061 millimeters in width, and 1985 millimeters in height. The wheelbase stretches to 3000 millimeters, helping provide a spacious interior and stable road presence.

Under the hood sits a 2.0 liter turbocharged plug in hybrid system. The gasoline engine produces 185 kilowatts of power, which is about 248 horsepower. It works together with a 59.05 kilowatt hour ternary lithium battery pack that allows the SUV to travel up to 190 kilometers in full electric mode under the China Light Duty Vehicle Test Cycle. Combined fuel consumption is rated at 8.45 liters per 100 kilometers.

The model was teased by Great Wall Motor chairman Wei Jianjun on February 28 before the official reveal, and the final vehicle closely matches the silhouette shown in those early teaser images.
