Ford Just Created a New Bronco Sweet Spot With the 2027 Bronco RTR
The Ford Bronco lineup is about to get more interesting, and this time it is coming straight from the desert racing playbook. The 2027 Ford Bronco RTR is not just another appearance package. It is Ford leaning deeper into performance driven off roading while keeping the price within reach for buyers who want serious capability without stepping all the way up to a Raptor.
This project builds on years of collaboration with Vaughn Gittin Jr. and his RTR Vehicles brand. Enthusiasts have already seen what RTR can do with Mustangs and Broncos, and this factory backed version takes that experience and bakes it directly into the vehicle. The result is a Bronco that feels purpose built for fast desert running, not just weekend trail cruising.
From the factory, the Bronco RTR rides on 33 inch tires paired with a high clearance suspension setup that gives it a subtle lift and more confidence over rough terrain. Visually, it stands out immediately thanks to Hyper Lime accents, the signature RTR grille, and unique front lighting that makes it impossible to mistake for a standard Bronco. RTR Evo 6 wheels come standard, and they are beadlock capable for drivers who actually plan to air down and push the truck hard.
Performance is where things really start to get interesting. Drawing from desert racing development, Ford adds an off road optimized anti lag system that keeps the turbo spinning even when the driver lifts off the throttle. In real world driving, that translates to smoother power delivery, quicker response, and more control when blasting across uneven terrain at speed.
Cooling has also been addressed, which is critical for sustained hard driving in hot environments. The Bronco RTR borrows the cooling fan from the Bronco Raptor, helping it manage heat when the miles pile up and the conditions get brutal.
For buyers who want even more, Ford offers the Sasquatch package on the Bronco RTR. This upgrade swaps the standard tires for 35 inch rubber and adds the HOSS 3.0 suspension system with Fox shocks. Until now, that suspension setup was limited to higher end trims like Badlands, so its availability here is a big deal. It shows Ford is serious about spreading real hardware upgrades throughout the lineup instead of locking them behind the most expensive models.
Pricing is another key part of the story. Ford positions the Bronco RTR as a sweet spot in the lineup, delivering Raptor inspired high speed capability with a lower starting price than a Badlands Sasquatch. That makes it especially appealing for buyers who want performance first, style second, and value always in mind.
The Bronco RTR will make its public debut at the Detroit Auto Show in 2026, and it will also be shown doing what it was built for at King of the Hammers in Johnson Valley. Ordering opens in October, with deliveries expected to begin in January of 2027.
