Ford GT racecar development with Sebring track test footage – Video

Ford is bringing back its iconic GT in both road-legal and track-only versions and today we get a closer look at the race version which will compete starting next year in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. According to Raj Nair, chief technical officer, the racecar’s function is to win at Le Mans and the astonishing design is actually the result of intense testing to improve aerodynamic efficiency as much as possible. He goes on to say the suspension, cockpit’s size and even the engine were also driven by aerodynamics.
