Cadillac working on special CTS-V with more horsepower

The Cadillac CTS-V certainly isn’t lacking in power but a new report is indicating something more wicked is in the works.

Citing a “well-placed source,” Automobile Magazine is reporting the company is working on an upgraded model to battle the next-generation BMW M5 and Mercedes E63 AMG. There’s no word on how high the output could climb but the insider said “I don’t know where it stops, but it’s not at 640 bhp, that’s for sure.”

In the meantime, buyers will have to make do with the car’s supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that develops 640 bhp (477 kW) and 630 lb-ft (855 Nm) of torque. It enables the CTS-V to rocket from 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds before hitting a top speed of 200 mph (322 km/h).
