BMW M2 CS 2025 Reveal Coming Soon
BMW is getting ready to make some serious noise next month, and all signs point to a brand-new M2 CS coming in hot. The reveal is likely to take place at the 2025 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, right on the scenic shores of Lake Como in Italy. Even though there is still some development testing happening on the Nürburgring race track, it looks like things are close to wrapping up.
Spy footage has just surfaced, showing what appears to be two prototypes of a heavily modified BMW 2 Series. The aggressive styling makes it pretty clear that we are looking at a new CS variant of the M2. That means sharper aerodynamics, a sportier profile, and a lot of performance upgrades.
Up front, you can spot a new spoiler lip, potentially wider fenders, and at the back, a signature ducktail spoiler that screams performance. The upcoming M2 CS is expected to stick with a rear-wheel drive layout, although an all-wheel drive version with BMW’s xDrive system could show up in the future. Carbon fiber elements will likely be used throughout the body and interior, keeping weight down and boosting rigidity.
Expect exclusive paint options like Velvet Blue, Brooklyn Grey, and Sapphire Black, along with black or bronze alloy wheels. The cabin might include carbon fiber bucket seats—possibly the same ones from the standard M2’s optional Carbon Package.
Power-wise, this thing will be a beast. The current M2 already produces 473 horsepower, but the new M2 CS is rumored to crank that up to over 520 horsepower from its twin-turbocharged inline-six engine. Sadly, no manual transmission this time—only an 8-speed automatic transmission will be available. That decision may disappoint purists, but performance is still the name of the game.
Weight savings are expected to be around 66 pounds compared to the standard model, which should improve agility and speed. Like other CS models from BMW, production will be limited—reports suggest less than 2,000 units will be built over about a year.
