BMW iM4 Coupe Preview Render Hints at the Next Electric M Car

BMW iM4 Coupe Preview Render Hints at the Next Electric M Car

BMW is preparing for a major shift in its performance lineup, and while the company recently revealed its M Concept Neue Klasse sedan, designers at DPCcars have already started looking ahead. Their latest digital creation imagines what an all electric BMW iM4 Coupe could look like, offering a fresh take on the future of the legendary M4.

Although BMW has not officially revealed a coupe version or shown any prototypes, the concept feels like a natural next step. If the company follows the same strategy as its gasoline powered performance cars, a sleek 2 door model would fit perfectly alongside the upcoming electric sports sedan.

The imagined iM4 keeps the clean and modern styling introduced by the Neue Klasse design language but adapts it to a more athletic coupe shape. The longer doors, flowing roofline, and muscular proportions create a more aggressive appearance while still maintaining the elegant look expected from a premium BMW. Classic BMW styling cues are also preserved, including the distinctive Hofmeister kink at the rear side window. Finished in Dakar yellow and riding on striking aerodynamic wheels with large center sections, the render captures a futuristic performance car that still feels unmistakably like an M model.

Underneath, the production version is expected to use BMW’s Neue Klasse platform, which has been developed specifically for the company’s next generation of electric vehicles. Reports suggest the most powerful models could feature 4 electric motors producing as much as 1,000 horsepower. That would nearly double the output of today’s BMW M4 Competition, which uses a 3.0 liter twin turbocharged inline 6 engine delivering 510 horsepower.

BMW has not confirmed exactly when the coupe will arrive, but industry expectations point toward a production debut around 2028, possibly alongside the electric iM3 sedan or shortly afterward. If the final model resembles this rendering, BMW fans could have an exciting new electric performance coupe to look forward to in the coming years.
