Bentley’s Most Extreme SUV Yet The Bentayga X Concept Revealed on Ice
Bentley Motors chose one of the most dramatic winter backdrops in the world to reveal something very different. At the FAT Ice Race in Zell am See, the brand pulled the cover off the Bentayga X Concept, a vehicle created to explore how far the Bentayga formula can be pushed when true off road capability becomes the priority. This concept is not about show for the sake of show. It is a real conversation starter, designed to gather feedback and test demand for a tougher, more adventure focused Bentayga.
The Bentayga range already covers a wide spectrum. There is the performance driven Bentayga Speed, the comfort focused Extended Wheelbase, and everything in between. The Bentayga X Concept takes aim at the third pillar of capability, serious off road use, while keeping the luxury and performance DNA that Bentley owners expect. It is based on the Bentayga Speed, powered by a 650 PS 4.0 litre twin turbocharged V8 engine paired with permanent all wheel drive and an 8 speed transmission.
Underneath, the hardware remains serious. Air suspension works alongside Bentley Dynamic Ride, the brand’s 48 volt active anti roll control system, allowing the vehicle to adapt whether it is cruising or climbing. Where things really change is the stance. The Bentayga X Concept rides on forged single piece 22 inch wheels developed with Brixton, wrapped in large profile off road tires. Track width grows by 120 mm, ride height jumps by 55 mm, and the wheel arches extend outward by 40 mm to accommodate the new setup.
Those changes are not cosmetic. Ground clearance climbs to just under 310 mm, while wading depth exceeds 550 mm. In simple terms, this Bentayga is built to go places most luxury SUVs would never dare. The exterior keeps things purposeful, with roof mounted storage, four auxiliary spotlights for night adventures, and even space to carry a small electric go kart as a demonstration of cargo flexibility. With the roof equipment fitted, total height reaches 2.49 metres.
At the rear, the titanium sports exhaust from Akrapovic remains a focal point, reminding everyone that this is still a Bentley with a serious performance edge. Twin towing eyes at the front underline the vehicle’s off road intent, blending function with confidence.
The Bentayga X Concept also marks the beginning of a new multi year partnership between Bentley and FAT International, unveiled at the FAT Ice Race. The event itself is a celebration of automotive culture, blending motorsport, art, and community on ice. Bentley’s presence signals a deeper involvement, with future appearances planned in Big Sky, Montana, and a full takeover of FAT Mankei later in the year.
Sharing the ice with the Bentayga X Concept are some of Bentley’s most striking modern creations, including the Continental GT S, the Continental GTC S, and special vehicles from Mulliner. Familiar faces from car culture and motorsport bring the event to life, turning this from a static reveal into a moving statement about where the brand could be heading next.
