Arcfox Alpha T7 Takes Aim at China’s Electric SUV Market

Arcfox is expanding its presence in China’s electric vehicle market with the new Alpha T7, a large family sport utility vehicle offered with both battery electric and extended range electric powertrains. Pre-sales have now started with subsidized pricing from 137,800 yuan, putting the Alpha T7 directly into one of China’s most competitive vehicle segments.

The Alpha T7 lineup includes 9 rear wheel drive variants. Buyers can choose from 4 extended range electric models and 5 battery electric models. Despite its relatively accessible price, this is a substantial vehicle, measuring 5,020 millimeters long with a 3,040 millimeter wheelbase. The fastback inspired shape gives it a more athletic appearance than a traditional family sport utility vehicle.

Battery electric versions use an 800 volt electrical architecture and a motor producing up to 227 kilowatts. The entry level 650 Plus receives a 75.4 kilowatt hour battery and delivers up to 650 kilometers of range under the China Light Duty Vehicle Test Cycle. Higher versions use an 84.8 kilowatt hour battery and increase the maximum range to 715 kilometers. Charging from 30% to 80% takes around 15 minutes.

The extended range models take a different approach. A 1.5 liter gasoline engine works as a range extender alongside a 200 kilowatt electric motor and 43.9 kilowatt hour battery. These versions can travel up to 320 kilometers using battery power alone, while the combined driving range reaches an impressive 1,315 kilometers.

Technology is another major part of the Alpha T7 story. Selected versions receive Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 Pro driver assistance technology and an in cabin LiDAR sensor. Other configurations use BAIC’s own Yuanjing driver assistance system.

Inside, a large 17.3 inch 3K center display dominates the dashboard. The infotainment system also integrates ByteDance Doubao and Alibaba Qwen artificial intelligence models. Add continuously variable damping suspension, chassis tuning developed with input from Magna, up to 1,845 liters of rear cargo capacity and a 200 liter front trunk, and the Alpha T7 brings an unusually broad package for its price.

As Arcfox’s flagship model for 2026, the Alpha T7 shows just how quickly China’s electric vehicle market is evolving. Long range, rapid charging, advanced driver assistance and a spacious cabin are increasingly appearing at prices that would have seemed difficult to imagine only a few years ago.
