All-New Fiat 500 Hybrid Built in Italy: Full Tour of the Revival Model
Fiat is turning the page on a new chapter in Turin, bringing the beloved Fiat 500 back to where it all began—this time in hybrid form. Production for the new Fiat 500 Hybrid officially kicks off this November at the historic Mirafiori Carrozzerie plant, with a goal of building 5,000 units before the year ends. Pre-production is already underway, and everything is moving according to Stellantis’ roadmap laid out to the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy in December 2024.
When production ramps up fully, the factory will see an increase of around 100,000 units annually. It is more than a production plan—it is a bold statement about the rebirth of the Turin facility and a show of confidence in Italian industry during the ongoing energy transition.
The Fiat 500 Hybrid stays true to its classic roots but embraces the future with meaningful upgrades. It will be offered in three versions: a compact hatchback for everyday city life, a unique 3 plus 1 model with a rear-hinged passenger door for easier access, and a fun Cabrio that brings open-air driving to the segment.
Under the hood, the 500 Hybrid runs on a 1.0-liter three-cylinder FireFly mild-hybrid engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. It uses a 12-volt system to improve fuel efficiency while still offering an engaging and accessible drive—something Fiat has always delivered.
Inside, the technology is equally modern. The Uconnect 5 infotainment system includes a sharp 10.25-inch high-resolution touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, and a 7-inch digital display. Everything is designed to keep you connected without taking your focus off the road.
Safety features are just as important, especially in a city car. The new Fiat 500 Hybrid comes equipped with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, traffic sign recognition, and other helpful advanced driver assistance systems tailored for daily urban traffic.
Fiat is not just making another car—it is restoring a symbol. The company is paying tribute to its heritage with a special launch edition named the “500 Torino,” celebrating the city, the factory, and the workers who made it all happen. Olivier François, Chief Executive Officer of Fiat and Global Chief Marketing Officer of Stellantis, called this return to Mirafiori a promise kept. For Fiat, this factory is more than an assembly line—it is the soul of the brand.
This new 500 Hybrid merges nostalgia and innovation in a way that only Fiat can. It is stylish, practical, and filled with character. From its refined interior materials to its unmistakable exterior design, it remains a true lifestyle car. Fiat is showing the world that Italian design, accessible technology, and emotional appeal can all exist in one package.
The road ahead promises even more. As Fiat repositions itself for the future, the new 500 Hybrid stands as a bridge between the past and what is coming next. If you love small cars with a big personality, this one is for you.
