Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale Perla Nera Is a One-Off Black Beauty
Alfa Romeo has taken the already rare 33 Stradale and made it even more exclusive with the creation of the 33 Stradale Perla Nera. Developed as a true one-off commission, this special version was created for a dedicated Alfa Romeo collector who wanted a car tailored not only to personal taste, but also to their individual physique.
The Perla Nera was created through Bottegafuoriserie, the personalization division associated with Alfa Romeo and Maserati. Rather than simply selecting a different paint color or interior trim, the owner worked directly with the team throughout the development process. According to Cristiano Fiorio, General Manager of Bottegafuoriserie for Alfa Romeo and Maserati, every detail was developed together with the owner.
Even the Perla Nera name, which translates to Black Pearl, was selected and registered by the customer. Alfa Romeo has not identified the collector, describing the individual as someone with a deep knowledge of the automotive world and a strong passion for the Italian brand.
The exterior immediately separates this 33 Stradale from other examples. Instead of covering the carbon fiber body with conventional paint, Alfa Romeo left the material exposed beneath a matte black finish. The result gives the car a darker and more technical appearance while allowing the carbon fiber weave to remain part of the design.
Producing that finish required considerable attention to detail. The carbon fiber was laid into the mould by hand, with the orientation of the weave carefully controlled so it follows the curves and surfaces of the body. That craftsmanship becomes part of the visual character rather than something hidden underneath the exterior.
The dark appearance continues with black 3-spoke alloy wheels and matching black brake calipers. With very little visual contrast across the body, wheels, and braking hardware, the Perla Nera has a remarkably clean appearance that puts more attention on the shape of the 33 Stradale itself.
Inside, Alfa Romeo continued the same approach with exposed carbon fiber and extensive Alcantara upholstery. However, one of the most interesting features cannot be appreciated simply by looking at photographs.
The sports seats were specifically redesigned around the owner’s physique. Dedicated fitting sessions and consultations were used to determine how the seats should support the driver while balancing comfort and performance. It is a level of personalization that goes far beyond selecting upholstery colors or stitching patterns.
Additional details make the cabin even more personal. A traditional cannelloni pattern appears on the door panels and door sills, while Quadrifoglio and Autodelta symbols provide connections to Alfa Romeo’s performance heritage. The owner’s initials also appear on the Alfa Romeo rotary selector.
Perla Nera branding can be found throughout the interior, including on a storage compartment positioned along the rear cabin wall. That compartment carries the number 03/33, identifying this particular 33 Stradale within the extremely limited production series.
A matching custom luggage set completes the commission. The luggage is finished in Alcantara and also carries the 03/33 designation, extending the personalized theme beyond the car itself.
The 33 Stradale was already designed to be something owners could personalize extensively, but the Perla Nera demonstrates just how far Alfa Romeo is willing to take that idea. The owner did not simply choose a specification from a catalog. Details ranging from the carbon fiber exterior to the shape of the seats were developed specifically for this individual car.
With only 33 examples of the modern 33 Stradale planned, exclusivity was guaranteed from the beginning. The Perla Nera takes that philosophy another step further, turning an already rare Italian exotic into a genuinely individual creation.
