World Premiere: New 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLA
The World Premiere of the 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLA is finally here, introducing an all-new generation with cutting-edge technology, a futuristic interior, faster charging, and an advanced electric-first platform.
Mercedes-Benz has completely reinvented its compact luxury sport utility vehicle for 2027. Built on the brand’s new Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture platform, the new GLA delivers improved efficiency, a redesigned cabin with the MBUX Superscreen, artificial intelligence-powered MB.OS, and impressive electric driving range. The lineup includes the GLA 200, GLA 250 Plus, and GLA 350 FourMatic, offering faster charging, better performance, and more practicality than ever before.
The electric lineup launches with several distinct personalities. The entry-level GLA 200 uses a rear-mounted electric motor producing 224 horsepower and draws energy from a 58 kilowatt-hour Lithium Iron Phosphate battery. Thanks to the advanced 800 volt electrical architecture, the vehicle supports charging speeds up to 200 kilowatts, allowing the battery to recharge from 10 percent to 80 percent in about 20 minutes. Mercedes-Benz estimates a driving range of up to 447 kilometers under the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure.
Drivers looking for maximum efficiency will likely gravitate toward the GLA 250 Plus. It upgrades to a larger 85 kilowatt-hour Nickel Manganese Cobalt battery while increasing output to 272 horsepower. The combination of improved aerodynamics, greater battery capacity, and advanced battery chemistry allows this version to travel as far as 657 kilometers before needing another charge. Charging performance also improves, reaching up to 320 kilowatts under ideal conditions.
At the top of the electric range sits the dual-motor GLA 350 FourMatic. Delivering a combined 354 horsepower through all-wheel drive, it accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in only 5.4 seconds. Despite its stronger performance, intelligent power management disconnects the front motor whenever additional traction is unnecessary, helping preserve efficiency. Even with two electric motors, Mercedes-Benz estimates a driving range of up to 643 kilometers.
