2028 Genesis G90 Rendered With a Bold New Look

Genesis appears to be preparing a significant update for its flagship G90 luxury sedan, and recent spy photos suggest the changes will go far beyond a simple bumper refresh. Although the prototypes remain heavily camouflaged, the new front design is already beginning to take shape.

The biggest change appears to be a completely redesigned lighting signature influenced by the new Genesis GV90. A thin upper lighting strip is expected to stretch across the front near the hood, while the lower lighting element could feature a distinctive V shaped design. Unlike the electric GV90, the G90 is expected to retain a traditional radiator grille. Genesis may also introduce a redesigned front bumper and new wheel designs, while changes at the rear could be more subtle.

Under the hood, the current 3.5 liter twin turbocharged V6 engine is expected to continue, producing around 380 horsepower and 530 Newton meters of torque. The more powerful version uses a 48 volt electric supercharger system and produces approximately 415 horsepower.

Technology could become the bigger story. Genesis is reportedly targeting Level 3 automated driving capability, positioning the updated G90 against advanced luxury sedans such as the Mercedes Benz S Class. The refreshed Genesis G90 is expected to arrive closer to 2027.
