2027 Mitsubishi ASX VR-e GSR Has 459 HP and AWD
The 2027 Mitsubishi ASX VR-e is bringing a very different personality to the ASX name, combining a fully electric powertrain with surprisingly serious performance. The big attraction is the GSR model, which sits at the top of the new electric lineup with dual-motor all-wheel drive.
The ASX VR-e GSR produces 342 kilowatts, or approximately 459 horsepower, along with 700 Newton meters of torque. Mitsubishi says it can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 3.9 seconds, making this compact electric crossover considerably quicker than most people would expect from an ASX.
Performance is not just about straight-line speed. In Sport mode, the all-wheel-drive system can use a 30:70 front-to-rear torque distribution, giving the vehicle a more rear-focused character. Drivers also get multiple regenerative braking settings and one-pedal driving.
A 57.7 kilowatt-hour lithium iron phosphate battery powers the lineup. The rear-wheel-drive versions produce 171 kilowatts, or approximately 229 horsepower, while the GSR doubles that output with its additional front motor. Direct current fast charging can reach 134 kilowatts.
Inside, Mitsubishi gives the ASX VR-e a modern cabin centered around a 15.6-inch touchscreen and a 9.2-inch digital instrument display. Higher specifications add features such as a panoramic glass roof, heated and ventilated seats, ambient lighting and a 12-speaker audio system.
With the GSR delivering supercar-like acceleration in a compact electric crossover, the 2027 ASX VR-e could introduce Mitsubishi buyers to a very different side of the brand.
