2027 Mercedes C Class EV Rendered Bigger Design Changes Than Expected

The next generation of the Mercedes Benz C Class Electric is starting to reveal itself in a more complete way, and what stands out immediately is how different it looks from what people expect from a traditional C Class. Even through camouflage, you can tell this is not just an electric version of the current sedan, but something that has been rethought from the ground up.

One of the biggest changes comes from its proportions. The familiar long hood rear wheel drive stance appears to be fading, replaced by a design that stretches the front section further forward. That longer front overhang gives the car a more aerodynamic shape, something that is clearly becoming a priority for electric vehicles. At the same time, the gap between the front wheel and the door looks tighter, which further confirms this new layout.

From the side, there is another interesting detail. Additional glass is visible behind the rear doors, and the roofline flows down more smoothly toward the back. This creates a more dynamic silhouette and hints that this model may move away from a classic sedan shape. It feels closer to a liftback design, which could improve both style and practicality.

Details like retractable door handles continue to show how Mercedes Benz is aligning this car with its newer electric lineup. At the front, the headlights are still partially hidden, but the new daytime running lights already give away a fresh lighting signature shaped around the brand’s identity. Around the rear, the license plate area has been shifted down into the bumper, another small but noticeable change that alters the car’s visual balance.

Underneath, this model will ride on the MB EA platform, a dedicated architecture for electric passenger vehicles. That alone is a big deal because it means the car is not adapting older technology, but instead starting with a clean slate designed specifically for electric performance and efficiency.

The first version expected to arrive will feature an all wheel drive setup powered by two electric motors, delivering around four hundred eighty nine horsepower. That should give it strong acceleration while still maintaining a projected driving range of about eight hundred kilometers. A single motor version will likely follow, offering a more accessible entry point into the lineup.

For those looking for something more extreme, development is already underway for a high performance variant from Mercedes AMG. Early expectations suggest a setup with three electric motors and output reaching as high as eight hundred horsepower, which would put it in serious performance territory.

The official reveal is expected around July, and based on what is already visible, this electric C Class is shaping up to be one of the most important transitions for the brand. It is not just about switching to electric power, but about redefining what a C Class can be going forward.
