2027 Hyundai Tucson Revealed With Huge Changes

2027 Hyundai Tucson Revealed With Huge Changes

Hyundai has officially introduced the all new 2027 Tucson, giving one of the brand’s most important sport utility vehicles a complete makeover. This is the 5th generation Tucson, and rather than simply updating the previous design, Hyundai has given it a larger body, a completely redesigned cabin, new technology, and an upgraded hybrid powertrain.

The new Tucson measures about 185 inches long and rides on a wheelbase of approximately 109.6 inches. Compared with the previous generation, it is 60 millimeters longer, 40 millimeters wider, and its wheelbase has grown by 30 millimeters. The extra size should translate into more usable passenger space, particularly in the second row. Hyundai has also increased the rear door opening angle to 83 degrees, making it easier to get passengers, child seats, and larger items into the vehicle.

The exterior takes a noticeably different direction. Hyundai has moved away from some of the complex shapes of the outgoing Tucson and created a more upright and traditional sport utility vehicle profile. Vertical daytime running lights, stronger fenders, straighter body lines, and new rear lighting give the Tucson a tougher appearance while still keeping it recognizable as a Hyundai.

Inside, the transformation is even more obvious. The dashboard has a cleaner horizontal layout with a new steering wheel, large center display, digital instrumentation, wireless phone charging, and physical controls for commonly used functions. Depending on the configuration, the infotainment display measures up to 17 inches. Hyundai is also introducing PLEOS Connect with its Gleo artificial intelligence assistant, allowing drivers to interact with vehicle functions using more natural voice commands.

Powertrain choices include a 1.6 liter turbocharged gasoline engine, while the new hybrid system produces a combined 245 PS. Hyundai has also improved suspension tuning, body rigidity, noise insulation, and aerodynamics, lowering the drag coefficient from 0.33 to 0.30.

The 2027 Hyundai Tucson represents a major change for a model that competes in one of the busiest segments of the market. Complete United States specifications, pricing, fuel economy ratings, and final trim details are still expected closer to its American launch.
