2027 GMC Sierra AT4X Gets 35-Inch Tires and New V8

The 2027 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X takes the brand’s off-road pickup formula to another level, and this particular truck makes an especially strong first impression in Mesa Red. The deep exterior color works well with the AT4X’s rugged details, giving the Sierra an upscale appearance without hiding its more aggressive personality.

A major part of that look comes from the 18-inch Gloss Black Machine Aluminum Finish wheels. They provide a strong contrast against the Mesa Red body while fitting naturally with the truck’s off-road hardware. More importantly, the AT4X comes standard with massive 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory mud-terrain tires. Combined with a 2-inch factory suspension lift, the setup gives the Sierra a much taller and more purposeful stance.

The changes are more than visual. The 2027 Sierra 1500 AT4X features Multimatic Dynamic Suspensions Spool Valve dampers along with Multimatic Jounce Control Dampers. GMC has also equipped the truck with electronic locking front and rear differentials, giving drivers additional traction when conditions become difficult.

Under the hood, the redesigned Sierra lineup introduces an all-new 6.6-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine. GMC says this engine will be the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in its class, although final horsepower and torque figures have not yet been announced. A new 5.7-liter V8, an enhanced TurboMax 4-cylinder engine, and the 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel inline 6 will also be available across the Sierra lineup.

Inside, this AT4X looks dramatically different from the rugged exterior. The Timber Mahogany cabin with Bright White Accents creates an upscale atmosphere while still feeling appropriate for an off-road truck. Quilted materials, contrasting details, enhanced seat bolstering and AT4X-specific touches help separate it from the regular Sierra.
