2027 BMW X3 M50 Gets 443 HP and New Black Package

2027 BMW X3 M50 Gets 443 HP and New Black Package

The 2027 BMW X3 M50 xDrive is getting a meaningful update that combines more power with a much darker and sportier appearance. Starting in December 2026, BMW will introduce a new Black Package exclusively for the X3 M50 xDrive, while also increasing output from its 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder gasoline engine.

The biggest mechanical change is the additional 45 horsepower. BMW’s M TwinPower Turbo engine, supported by 48-volt mild hybrid technology, now produces 443 horsepower. That gives the X3 M50 xDrive enough performance to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 4.4 seconds. Using the 1-foot rollout measurement, BMW says the same speed can be reached in 4.1 seconds. Importantly, the extra power is standard for the updated X3 M50 xDrive and does not require the Black Package.

For buyers looking for a more aggressive appearance, the new Black Package brings some noticeable changes. It includes exclusive 22-inch Polygon 1134 M Black light alloy wheels, high-gloss black brake calipers, black M logos and dark model badging with silver outlines.

The cabin receives an equally extensive transformation. BMW Individual Alcantara appears across sections of the dashboard, door trim, center console armrest and wireless smartphone charging area. Black Alcantara and Veganza seats feature blue stitching and piping, while M logos are embossed into the headrests. BMW Individual CraftedClarity glass controls and carbon-inspired trim add another premium performance touch.

BMW is also improving the rest of the X3 lineup beginning in December 2026. Updates include revised dashboard materials and stitching, additional ambient lighting, redesigned interior details and stainless steel protection for the cargo sill.

With 443 horsepower, sharper acceleration and the optional Black Package, the 2027 BMW X3 M50 xDrive is moving closer to traditional M territory while remaining the performance-focused version of BMW’s everyday X3.
