2026 Audi RS5 Exterior and Interior Deep Dive: Widebody Power Meets Luxury

2026 Audi RS5 Exterior and Interior Deep Dive: Widebody Power Meets Luxury

The new RS5 makes a strong first impression before it even starts moving. Audi has clearly leaned into a more muscular identity, and it shows in every panel and crease. Compared to the standard A5, the RS model stands about 3.5 inches wider at both the front and rear, giving it a planted, confident stance that instantly separates it from the rest of the lineup. The wider track is not just for show. It visually lowers the car and makes the fenders appear stretched tight over the wheels, like an athlete ready to explode off the line.

Up front, the fascia is aggressive without feeling overdone. Large air intakes dominate the lower bumper, channeling cooling air where it is needed while adding real depth to the design. Functional front fender vents enhance airflow and subtly remind you that this is a serious performance machine. The darker matrix Light Emitting Diode headlights sharpen the expression, and the black Four Rings badge adds a stealthy edge that enthusiasts will appreciate. Around back, the oval exhaust outlets sit closer to the center of the bumper, framed by sculpted surfaces that emphasize width. The wagon version, in particular, feels purposeful and balanced, blending everyday practicality with genuine performance presence.

Wheel options in 20 or 21 inches fill out the arches beautifully, especially when paired with the available ceramic brakes. Carbon fiber exterior accents are also offered for buyers who want an even more technical look. The checkered flag motif integrated into the Organic Light Emitting Diode taillights adds a subtle motorsport touch that rewards a second glance at night.

Inside, the transformation is more about atmosphere than radical change. The triple screen layout dominates the dashboard, giving the cabin a modern, technology forward feel. There is still glossy black trim, but Audi has elevated the experience with deeply bolstered sport seats that feature honeycomb quilting, electric adjustment, and a massage function. The base configuration avoids leather, while higher trims offer rich red or gray leather for a more dramatic look.

The steering wheel, wrapped in leather and flattened at the top and bottom, feels purpose built in your hands. Dedicated RS buttons allow quick access to driving modes and a 10 second boost function that unlocks maximum performance. Contrasting stitching, a black headliner, and tasteful inlays complete an interior that feels focused yet livable. It is a cabin that invites you to enjoy both spirited drives and long daily commutes without compromise.
