2016 Mercedes-Benz SL facelift – Video

Amateur spy photographer has recorded a video with a facelifted Mercedes-Benz SL testing in Germany.

After checking forums for SL-related posts, we came to the conclusion most of the SL fans are not big fans of the R231 generation and it seems the upcoming mid-cycle facelift won’t change your opinions.

Seen here is a near-production prototype caught on camera from behind showing an all-red look for the taillights along with a lightly updated rear bumper and new exhaust tips.

Our latest spy shots revealed Mercedes’s plan to install an “upside down” front grille, a remodeled front bumper, along with a fresh look for the headlights.

The side profile will remain virtually unchanged while inside the cabin we expect to find the usual updates like new trims and upholsteries, more kit and an update to the infotainment system and the array of safety & assistance systems.

Latest reports indicate the Daimler-owned marque will crack open the order books in December, so a full reveal will occur in the months to come.
