2016 BMW X1 with M Sport Package in the wild

2016 BMW X1 with M Sport Package in the wild

The new 2016 BMW X1 equipped with the awesome optional M Sport Package has been captured in the flesh.

Making the switch to a controversial front-wheel drive layout, BMW’s second generation of the BMW X1 SAV is probably not as appealing as it used to be, but there’s an M Sport Package available to spice things up a little bit.

A pre-production vehicle painted in Alpine White fitted with the optional kit was seen showing a slightly sportier body with beefier bumpers and side skirts, along with a mildly revised kidney grille and other minor tweaks.

In the interior it features sportier performance seats, leather steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control system and bespoke side sills.

It also has the beautiful Estoril Blue trim and stitching, along with cruise control (with braking function) and rear parking sensors.

Depending on the package and engine, the M Sport Package is available for a hefty €4,100 to €5,200. If these goodies haven’t made you fan yet, BMW recently said they are analyzing the prospects of launching an BMW X1 M but even if approved that won’t be out sooner than 2017.
