The electric vehicle market in China continues to move at an incredible pace, and the latest example comes from the partnership between GAC and Huawei. The two companies recently introduced the AISTALAND GT7, a premium electric shooting brake that combines advanced performance, long driving range, intelligent technology, and futuristic design. The vehicle made its official pre sale debut during the AISTALAND GT7 Pre sale Launch Event, attracting significant attention from both industry experts and consumers.
The GT7 is the first model from the new AISTALAND brand, a collaboration that aims to blend GAC’s vehicle manufacturing experience with Huawei’s expertise in software, connectivity, and intelligent driving systems. The result is a vehicle designed to compete with some of the most advanced electric vehicles currently available in China.
From the outside, the GT7 presents a sleek and athletic appearance. Its shooting brake body style combines the practicality of a wagon with the sporty proportions of a performance car. The long wheelbase, low roofline, and wide stance give the vehicle a premium presence that immediately stands out. Unlike many traditional sport utility vehicles, the GT7 focuses on aerodynamic efficiency while maintaining generous interior space.
The vehicle measures 5,050 millimeters in length and rides on a 3,000 millimeter wheelbase. These dimensions allow for a spacious cabin while also providing impressive cargo capacity. Owners can access 647 liters of rear storage space, which expands to 1,606 liters when the rear seats are folded. A 215 liter front trunk adds additional practicality, making the GT7 suitable for family use, road trips, and everyday transportation.
Performance is one of the vehicle’s biggest highlights. The entry level rear wheel drive model produces 340 horsepower and accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 5.9 seconds. While those figures are already competitive, the flagship GT7 Ultra takes performance to another level.
The GT7 Ultra uses a triple motor all wheel drive system that generates an impressive 768 horsepower. According to company figures, the vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 2.98 seconds. That places it among some of the quickest production electric vehicles currently available.
Power comes from advanced battery technology developed in partnership with Contemporary Amperex Technology Company Limited, better known as CATL. Buyers can choose between an 86.1 kilowatt hour battery pack or a larger 102.8 kilowatt hour battery. Depending on the configuration, the GT7 can achieve up to 900 kilometers of range under the China Light Duty Vehicle Test Cycle standard.
Charging performance is equally impressive. The GT7 is built on an 800 volt electrical architecture and supports advanced 6C fast charging technology. Under ideal conditions, GAC claims the vehicle can add approximately 1 kilometer of driving range every second while connected to a compatible fast charger. This technology could significantly reduce charging times and improve convenience for owners.
Perhaps the most important technology announcement during the launch event involved Huawei’s latest intelligent driving platform. The GT7 becomes the first production vehicle equipped with Huawei Qiankun Advanced Driving System 5.0.
The system utilizes an extensive sensor package that includes advanced LiDAR technology, cameras, radar units, and other monitoring equipment. In total, flagship models feature 36 sensors working together to create a detailed understanding of the surrounding environment. Huawei states that the hardware is prepared for future Level 3 autonomous driving capabilities as regulations continue to evolve.
Beyond intelligent driving, the GT7 also introduces Huawei’s advanced digital chassis technology. The system combines air suspension, adaptive damping, and intelligent vehicle controls to continuously adjust ride quality and handling characteristics. The goal is to provide both comfort during daily driving and confidence during spirited driving situations.
Inside the cabin, the GT7 showcases Huawei’s latest Harmony operating system ecosystem. Drivers gain access to a modern digital cockpit featuring advanced connectivity, artificial intelligence powered assistance, and seamless integration with Huawei devices and services. The experience is designed to make the vehicle feel more like a smart device on wheels than a traditional automobile.
Consumer interest appears to be strong. Reports following the launch event indicated that the GT7 secured more than 10,000 pre orders within the first 5 hours after reservations opened. That early demand suggests buyers are eager to experience the combination of GAC engineering and Huawei technology.
Pricing for the GT7 starts at 219,900 yuan and extends to 309,900 yuan for the range topping Ultra model. Considering the vehicle’s performance, technology package, and driving range, the pricing positions it as a strong value proposition within China’s increasingly competitive premium electric vehicle market.
The AISTALAND GT7 represents more than just another electric vehicle launch.
