| It's the same 5.2-liter,
direct-injection V10 engine that's in the new S8, but it's been
retuned to make 420 horsepower, which is 30 hp less than the S8 is
packing. No word yet on a torque figure, but we expect it to be a
few pound-feet shy of the S8's rating of 397. You know times are
good when 420 hp makes a machine the weakest car in its class, but
that is the deal here. Both the E55 and STS-V are packing 469 hp,
while the 5.0-liter V10 in the M5 makes 500 hp. Despite having
less grunt than its rivals, Audi says there's enough thrust to
slingshot the S6 to 60 mph in just 5.1 seconds. |
