BMW Alpina B5

For the more civilized BMW driver, German manufacturer Alpina claims unparalleled luxury and comfort with all the performance of BMW M-division cars. Its latest efforts are the B5 and B7, both powered by the same 4.4-liter V-8 found under the hood of BMW’s 545i and 745i, but with a forced induction. The result: output is up to an M5-matching 500 horsepower, and even more impressive, torque is boosted to 516 lb-ft, compared to the M5’s paltry 384 lb-ft. Even though the B5's automatic transmission adds extra weight, M5 drivers would have push every shift to the rev limiter to keep up. Now Bimmer fans can enjoy the torque previously exclusive to Mercedes-Benz AMG models.
