Widebody Porsche 911 Tribute to 917/20 Pink Pig Racecar

Widebody Porsche 911 Tribute to 917/20 Pink Pig Racecar

Japanese custom tuner Rauh-Welt Begriff is famous for its Porsche 911 wide body kits package, which take retro themes so far in terms of appearance, that it’s impossible to mistake these vehicles for anything else.

These aerodynamic masterpieces are the work of Nakai San and the he always bring something fresh for us to enjoy. We were starting to worry when he’d hit again since it is been a while he had made a new creation and now the man is working on a new Neunelfer that will take the flat-six Porsche world by storm. The car is due to hit the road in September, so it’s still a work-in-progress build. We can show you a photo gallery that reveals the Porsche 911 in its current build stage.

We are talking about a Porsche 911 from the  Porsche 964 generation, which seems to have received the RWB widebody panels as extensions of its factory styling accents.

The pink color used on this car, as well as a part of the design themes, are a credit to the infamous Porsche 917K/20 Pink Pig.

The historic Porsche racecar’s porcine look was owed to Porsche commissioning SERA, a French aerospace engineering company, to rearrange the aerodynamics of their Porsche 917K racer. Once the race car was ready, Porsche appreciated its incredible efficiency, but didn’t fail to notice its resemblance to a farm pig. Thus, the entire body of the  racecar was marked using the German names for the traditional cuts of pork – it’s a Porsche thing, And Porsche fans understand .

Martini, Porsche’s traditional sponsor, even refused to have its name displayed on the vehicle. They still honoured their sponsorship deal for the monster, but without the branding. But enough with the racecar’s description – you can see the voluptuous Porsche at the end of the gallery below.

We’re not sure whether this RWB 911 will borrow the complete livery, but our bet is that it will. Until we find out, you can see the man himself molding the car into shape in the gallery below.

Rauh-Welt Begriff has now landed in Australia

It appears this 911 was created to mark the birth of RWB’s Australian arm and we can only be happy Down Under drivers can no wear such extravagant aerodynamics. We feel this is RWB’s interpretation of the Porsche 911 50th Anniversary edition.
