The New BRABUS BODO Is A 223 Miles Per Hour V12 Monster

The new BRABUS BODO is more than just another ultra high performance coupe. This machine was created as a tribute to the company’s founder, Bodo Buschmann, and it brings together nearly 50 years of engineering, design, and craftsmanship into one dramatic grand touring car. Limited to just 77 units worldwide, the BODO is designed to stand out not only because of its exclusivity, but also because of the emotion behind its creation.

At first glance, the BODO immediately looks different from anything else currently wearing the BRABUS badge. The body is fully made from high strength carbon fiber using advanced pre preg manufacturing techniques, helping keep the weight surprisingly low for a luxury grand tourer measuring over 5 meters in length. The long hood, low roofline, and wide rear section give it a classic grand touring shape, but the styling still feels modern and aggressive. Every detail was carefully developed in the wind tunnel, including the active rear spoiler that can even act as an air brake at high speed.

The front end carries a bold BRABUS grille with 13 vertical slats and massive RAM AIR ducts feeding cool air into the engine. Large air intakes help cool the oil, water systems, and brakes, while the exposed carbon fiber front spoiler increases downforce at higher speeds. The rear design is equally dramatic with futuristic LED lighting elements, quad titanium exhaust tips produced through 3D metal printing, and a massive diffuser that makes the car look planted even while standing still.

Under the hood sits the true centerpiece of the project. BRABUS developed a hand built 5.2 liter V12 biturbo engine producing an incredible 1,000 horsepower and 1,200 Newton meters of torque. Those numbers place the BODO among the most powerful road legal grand touring cars in the world. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through an 8 speed automatic transmission paired with an electronically controlled differential. The result is explosive acceleration. The BODO launches from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 3.0 seconds and reaches 300 kilometers per hour in only 23.9 seconds before eventually topping out at an electronically limited 360 kilometers per hour.

Even with those extreme numbers, BRABUS wanted the BODO to remain comfortable enough for long distance touring. The suspension system was developed with KW and features adaptive damping with multiple drive modes ranging from relaxed comfort settings to aggressive track focused calibration. The car can also raise itself approximately 25 millimeters to help clear steep driveways or rough roads before automatically lowering again once speeds increase.

The interior combines luxury and performance in classic BRABUS fashion. Black leather covers nearly every surface, while exposed carbon fiber trim appears throughout the dashboard, steering wheel, and center console. The seats feature detailed stitching, embroidered BRABUS logos, and a unique silhouette design of the BODO itself. Even the luggage compartment receives the same attention to detail, creating a cabin that feels truly handcrafted from front to back.

One of the most interesting details is the blockchain based Digital Product Passport integrated into the vehicle. Developed with the Aura Blockchain Consortium, the system stores verified ownership records and vehicle specifications digitally, adding an additional layer of exclusivity and authenticity for collectors.

What makes the BRABUS BODO special is not just the performance or the technology. This car carries a personal story behind it. According to BRABUS Chief Executive Officer Constantin Buschmann, the project was inspired by a dream his father had spoken about for many years but never had the opportunity to fully realize. Now that dream has finally become reality. That emotional connection gives the BODO a personality many modern hypercars simply do not have.

For collectors and enthusiasts, the BODO represents something increasingly rare in today’s automotive world. It blends old school twelve cylinder power with modern engineering, advanced aerodynamics, handcrafted luxury, and a deeply personal story. In many ways, it feels like a celebration of everything that made legendary grand touring cars so memorable in the first place, while still pushing into the future with modern technology and performance.
