Taking Delivery Of 1000th Mercedes Benz Actros – Video

A huge white convey from the Customer Center at the Mercedes-Benz Wörth plant: no less than 30 Actros 1845 LS await the starting signal from Siegfried Hegelmann, Managing Parter of the Hegelmann Group, and Wolfgang Theissen, Director Mercedes-Benz Trucks, Sales Europe and Overseas.

The logistics service provider Hegelmann is investing in the extension and modernisation of its vehicle fleet as it takes delivery of the trucks. The Group operates all over Europe and in two years it has welcomed 1000 new Actros vehicles into its fleet. The final 30 vehicles of this major order have now been handed over in an official ceremony.

“We are proud to be part of the growth story of the Hegelmann Group and to ensure that the Hegelmann Actros models are profitable when out on the road”, said Wolfgang Theissen during the official VIP handover in Wörth. “Low overall costs and optimum safety plus high vehicle availability, in short Road Efficiency – this is what we vouch for where Mercedes-Benz trucks are concerned”, commented Till Oberwörde, responsible for Marketing, Sales and Services at Mercedes-Benz Trucks.

500 further Actros vehicles in 2018

“Mercedes-Benz has shown us time and again that quality is delivered and that we can act efficiently on the market with the Actros”, said Siegfried Hegelmann, who manages the group of companies together with his cousin Anton Hegelmann. “Our drivers are also proud of the trucks.” The CEO will extend cooperation with Mercedes-Benz Trucks further in the future. In 2018 another 500 new Actros models will reinforce the Hegelmann fleet. The firm will also be supported in this by the dealership Silberauto in Lithuania, where the company also has a presence and orders its vehicles.

Focus on efficiency and comfort

When it comes to efficiency the new trucks in the Hegelmann Group want for nothing. As well as the extremely economical 330 kW engines, the trucks also have the anticipatory cruise control Predictive Powertrain Control on board. Hegelmann places huge importance on the comfort of the drivers. The trucks boast the 2.50 m wide L-cab BigSpace with a level floor and headroom of 1.99 m. The driver and co-driver make themselves at home in comfort suspension seats.

The Hegelmann Group

The Hegelmann Group was founded in 1998 by the three Hegelmann brothers and today has over 18 sites all over Europe, from the Algarve to Kazakhstan. Siegfried and Anton Hegelmann are the second generation of company bosses. In the last 20 years the logistics service supplier has become a top professional with around 1800 trucks for standard, special and non-stop express journeys. It is primarily time-critical transportation for the industry and in the automotive and foodstuffs sector which are part of the daily business of the carrier.
