Rendered BMW iX4 Reveals BMW’s Future Electric SUV

BMW is getting ready to expand its Neue Klasse family with a sleek new electric crossover that could become one of the brand’s most talked about models in the coming months. Fresh spy photos are now giving enthusiasts a much clearer look at the upcoming BMW iX4, and it appears the company is pushing harder into sporty electric design than ever before.

The new iX4 is expected to sit alongside the recently revealed BMW iX3, but this version takes a much more dramatic approach with its styling. While the front section looks nearly identical to the iX3, including the sharp headlights and updated kidney grille design, the overall silhouette is completely different. The roofline sits noticeably lower and flows downward toward the rear, creating a fastback inspired shape that gives the crossover a more athletic personality.

From the side, the vehicle looks cleaner and more refined than many current coupe style sport utility vehicles on the market. BMW kept traditional window frames instead of going frameless, which should help maintain practicality and reduce wind noise. At the rear, the sloping back glass stretches deep into the trunk area, while a sleek spoiler element adds a sporty finish. The new wheel design also gives the crossover a futuristic appearance that fits perfectly with BMW’s latest electric direction.

Underneath the body, the iX4 will reportedly use BMW’s dedicated Neue Klasse platform paired with an advanced 800 volt architecture. That setup should improve charging performance, efficiency, and overall driving dynamics. Early reports suggest the entry level iX4 40 will produce 316 horsepower through a single electric motor configuration. Buyers looking for more performance may gravitate toward the dual motor iX4 50, which is expected to generate 469 horsepower and 645 Newton meters of torque.

BMW is also believed to be preparing a future M performance version that could approach 600 horsepower. If that happens, the iX4 could become one of the most powerful electric crossovers in its segment while still maintaining the premium luxury experience BMW customers expect.

The official reveal is expected later this year, and judging by these early previews, BMW may have another major electric hit on its hands.
