Rare 1 of 12 – 1992 AMG Hammer Coupe 6.0 for sale – Video

This 1992 Mercedes Benz 300CE 6.0 AMG is said to be one of only 12 widebody Hammer coupes built. The car looks incredible from every angle, and 77k kilometers on the odometer works out to just under 48,000 miles. Porsche-built 500E’s are cool, Hammer sedans are dream cars, but this pillarless, 375 HP coupe is simply on another plane. Find it here on Autoleitner in Alkmaar, Netherlands for 149,500 euros (~$164k USD today). Special thanks to BaT reader Gooffer for this submission.

The car looks so good it’s hard to single out any single standout feature. Rather, it’s a wonderful collection of angular, granite-hewn shapes, all of them unmistakably 80’s Teutonica. A few highlights include those incredible flares, three-piece, 17″ AMG Monoblocks, the squared-off, twin pipe exhaust finisher, ducktail spoiler, and of course the graceful, pillarless roof. Blauschwarz and the perfect stance tie everything together beautifully. Condition looks excellent in all photos.

Offered in 5.0, 5.6, and ultimate 6.0 liter form, this car is equipped with the largest version of AMG’s quad cam, 32 valve V8. Good for 375 HP and a bit more than 400 lb. ft. of torque, this car should be good for easy sub five-second 0-60 MPH times–still impressive today, and top-tier supercar territory when new.

Easily one of the very coolest German cars of the past three decades, post-merger AMG’s don’t even come close. Check out Chris Harris sliding one around in the rain
