Official – Tesla Model X Signature Series Has 240-Mile Rangeand Costs $132K

The long wait for Tesla’s Model X electric crossover ends now after the Tesla Model X design studio officially opened today, giving us new information on the much-awaited EV.

Don’t get too ahead of yourself yet, though, as according to don’t website InsideEVs, the Tesla Model X design studio is only available for early exclusive Signature reservation holders. Still, the move offers us great information on the Tesla Model X, inexistent up until this point.

So, this is it, folks. At this point, the Tesla Model X can be purchased for a starting price of $132,000, but buyers can end up paying as much as a whopping $144,000 for the all-electric crossover. In case you didn’t know, those interested in purchasing a Signature Model X had to come up with a $40,000 deposit earlier, whereas those settling for a standard Tesla Model X had to pay $5,000 in advance.

However, there’s only one significant option available, which is the 90 kWh Tesla X. Moreover, this particular Tesla Model X version comes with an EPA-estimated range of 240 miles (386.2 km).

Also, Tesla Motors states a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h) as well as the green vehicle’s ability to blast from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in a very fast 3.8 seconds. That’s Brabus tuned Mercedes-AMG models performance levels.

But that’s not all. As we found out a few months ago, the Tesla Model X will also be capable of towing trailers. Courtesy of a set of photos posted on Tesla Motors Club, we can now tell you there’s an optional towing package being offered for the Tesla Model X, which allows the electric vehicle to pull up to 5,000 lbs (2,268 kg).

The good news for those amazed by the Ludicrous Mode is the Tesla Model X Signature Series can support it also, but the feature comes for an additional increase of $10,000. It’s not cheap, but the Tesla Model X can go from 0 to 60 mpg (96 km/h) in a crazy acceleration speed of  3.2 seconds in Ludicrious Mode.

Leaving performance aside, Tesla also included a Subzero Weather package for ($1,000), which besides the Mortal Kombat inspired name offers a cozy heated steering wheel, plus heated seats in the second and third row seating area.

That’s all the information we can provide at this point, but we expect a huge press release of new information in the coming weeks, so come back for more on this vehicle .
